6:18. ଉକ୍ତ ଦୁଇଟି ଯାକ ଅପରିବର୍ତ୍ତନୀୟ। ଯେତବେେଳେ ପରମେଶ୍ବର କିଛି କହନ୍ତି ସେ ମିଛ କହି ପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, ପୁଣି କୌଣସି ଶପଥ କଲା ବେଳେ ମଧ୍ଯ ସେ ମିଛ କହି ପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ଅତଏବ ଯେଉଁମାନେ ନିଜର ସୁରକ୍ଷା ଦୃଷ୍ଟିରୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିଛନ୍ତି, ସମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଉକ୍ତ କଥା ସାନ୍ତ୍ବନା ପ୍ରଦାନ କରେ ଓ ପରମେଶ୍ବରଙ୍କ ଭରସା ରେ ସ୍ଥିର ରହିବା ପାଇଁ ଦୃଢ଼ ଉତ୍ସାହ ପ୍ରଦାନ କରେ।

6:18. so that we who have found refuge in him may find strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us through two unchangeable things, since it is impossible for God to lie.

6:18. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.

6:18. that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us:

6:18. so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to hold fast to the hope set before us.

6:18. These two things cannot change: God cannot lie when he says something, and he cannot lie when he makes an oath. So these two things are a great help to us who have come to God for safety. They encourage us to hold on to the hope that is ours.
