1:42. ତା'ପରେ ଆନ୍ଦ୍ରିୟ ଶିମାନଙ୍କେୁ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆଣିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ଚାହିଁ କହିଲେ, "ତୁମ୍ଭେ ଯୋହନଙ୍କ ପୁତ୍ର ଶିମାନେ। ତୁମ୍ଭକୁ କଫୋ ନାମ ରେ ଡକା ହବେ।" ("କଫୋ" ଅର୍ଥାତ୍ "ପିତର।")

1:42. Andrew brought Simon to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon, the son of John. You will be called Cephas" (which is translated Peter).

1:42. Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus. Looking intently at Simon, Jesus said, "Your name is Simon, son of John-- but you will be called Cephas" (which means "Peter").

1:42. He brought him unto Jesus. Jesus looked upon him, and said, Thou art Simon the son of John: thou shalt be called Cephas (which is by interpretation, Peter).

1:42. He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "So you are Simon the son of John? You shall be called Cephas" (which means Peter).

1:42. And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, {SCJ}Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas,{SCJ.} which is by interpretation, A stone.

1:42. and he brought him unto Jesus: and having looked upon him, Jesus saith, `Thou art Simon, the son of Jonas, thou shalt be called Cephas,` (which is interpreted, A rock.)
