1:32. ତା'ପରେ ଯୋହନ କହିଲେ, "ଖ୍ରୀଷ୍ଟ କିଏ ବୋଲି ମୁଁ ମଧ୍ଯ ଜାଣି ନଥିଲି। କିନ୍ତୁ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ମାେତେ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଜଳ ରେ ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ଦବୋ ପାଇଁ ପଠଇେଥିଲେ। ଏବଂ ପରମେଶ୍ବର ମାେତେ କହିଥିଲେ, 'ତୁମ୍ଭେ ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାଙ୍କୁ ଅବତରଣ କରିବା ଓ ଜଣେ ବ୍ଯକ୍ତିଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ସ୍ଥିର ହାଇେ ରହିବା ଦେଖିବ, ସହେି ବ୍ଯକ୍ତି ଯକେି ପବିତ୍ର ଆତ୍ମାଙ୍କ ଦ୍ବାରା ବାପ୍ତିଜିତ ଦବେେ।"' ଯୋହନ କହିଲେ, "ଏସବୁ ଘଟିବାର ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଛି। ସ୍ବର୍ଗରୁ ଆତ୍ମା ଅବତରଣ କରିବାର ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଲି। ସହେି ଆତ୍ମା ଗୋଟିଏ କପୋତ ପରି ଦଖାେ ଯାଉଥିଲେ ଓ ଯୀଶୁଙ୍କ ଉପରେ ବସି ରହିଥିବାର ମୁଁ ଦେଖିଲି।

1:32. Then John said, "I also did not know who the Christ was. But the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, 'You will see the Spirit come down and rest on a man. He is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.' I have seen this happen. I saw the Spirit come down from heaven like a dove and rest on this man.
